Gingerbread man V.S. Gingerbread boy

The "Gingerbread Man" and the "Gingerbread Boy" were two fairy tales which are quite different yet somewhat alike. They both were baked by an old lady, yet the purpose for making them were different. In the first story, the Gingerbread Man was made for the grandchildren . However, the Gingerbread Boy was made to be a son. The fox tricked the Gingerbread Man and boy and almost ate them in both stories. Also, in both stories they both ran away from the animals. The Gingerbread Man was made of brown sugar coating, pink sugar, raisins, and had mounty eyes. The Gingerbread Boy was for a son and was made of cloves and peppercorn. The fox pretended to help him across the pond. Peppercorn made him sneeze. Even though the two stories had some differences they both had happy endings.

Acorn People: Last Days

A water ballet was performed on the last day of Camp Wiggin. All the people came to watch the play. After the play was over they had a swimming contest. Spider was chosen as the winner of the swimming contest. They felt sad leaving Camp Wiggin because of all the things they did together and they had to go home.

All of the campers died soon after they left Camp Wiggin. All the campers died that following year without a funeral. Benny B. was the last one to leave camp, he was the only one to have a funeral.

Acorn People Day 10

There was a fun dance at Camp Wiggin. Everyone at the camp came to the dance. No one wanted to dance and the girls wore makeup. They did a line dance and a bunny hop girls on one side and boys on the other side. The campers chose who would be king and queen. They chose Arid as King and Ms. Nelson as queen.

The campers knew camp was almost over. They were sad, didn't talk and wet the bed. They all went back to how they were. Ron had to clean the pool but he didn't want to.

Acorn People Day 6

Martin,Dominic,Benny B,Spider,Arid,Thomas Stewart, and Ron all climbed Mt. Lookout at dawn. It was a hard challenge to climb up Mt. Lookout because it was uphill and it was rocky. It happened at Camp Wiggins and Mt. Lookout. It was a challenge to the campers because it was hard to drive up the hill. They do it for the challenge.

Acorn People Day 3

Ron and Dominic changed the schedule at camp Wiggin. They went swimming and had a party. They made more acorn necklaces for more people. Martin seen that the blind girl didn't have a necklace so he gave his away to Mary. They had to make him a new one because he gave his away to the blind girl. They all made an acorn necklace for there girlfriends.

Acorn People Day 2

Benny B. has poli-no use of legs, he is fast and mobile. He didn't need alot of care because he was small. Spider had no arms nor legs he also had hydrocephalic water on brain. He swims well without arms and legs and he likes to talk. Thomas Stewart has muscular sclerosis and dry mouth. He is also very limp and very light. Martin is blind and seemed to have good sense. He would also curse at himself and he could only see above head level. Aaron had no bladder and his urine bag smelled like urine. He would also threaten with his urine bag.

Acorn People Day 1

Ron disliked his job as a counselor at a summer camp for disabled kids because he thought it was going to be fun and he thought kids would be normal. Kids couldn't go to the restroom, couldn't talk or they couldn't feed themselves.

Drug Addiction

I learned that turning to drugs can be very horrible and harmful to your health. Not only do you become addicted, you also may lose your friends and family. They began to lose trust and don't want to be around you. It is a long hard road to recover from drug abuse.

When they were about to have the party rain started pouring down on everything. They saved all of the stuff from getting wet and they rushed inside. Opal forgot about Winn Dixie and she ran outside to look for him. The preacher went with her to look for Winn Dixie. They searched everywhere and even called for him and they still didn't find him. After awhile they went back to Gloria Dump's house and they found Winn Dixie hiding under Gloria Dump's bed. He finally came out from underneath the bed and Otis played a song on his guitar for everybody. They all started to sing along. Because of the party, everyone became friends.

Opal went to Gloria Dump's house. When she read the story "Gone With the Wind" She had thought of a party for everybody. Opal went to invite the preacher to the party and all of her friends. Otis had brought pickles for the party and his guitar to play to people. Everybody introduced eachother and shook hands. When they started to eat they heard thunder.

Opal went to the library to see Mrs. Franny. Mrs. Franny told Opal about her great grand father making a candy factory because he was sad. He put melancholy in the candy. Opal gave some candy to her friends and to the preacher. Opal found out that Amanda's little brother died. She took some candy to Gloria Dump. She also took a book to read to Gloria Dump. The book was about the civil war.

Opal went to the library to see Mrs. Franny. Mrs. Franny told Opal a story about the civil war. She talked about her great grand father being in the civil war. When he returned home his house was burned to the ground , his three sisters died of the typhoid fever and his mom also died of the typhoid fever. His dad died on the battlefield.

Stevie and Dunlap got into an argument about Otis when he went to jail and how he's a bad person to be with. Opal went to Gloria Dump's house to tell her more stories. She told Gloria Dump that Otis is a criminal because he did lots of bad things, and went to jail. She asked Gloria Dump ''Should I be scared of Otis?'' Then Gloria Dump showed Opal a tree; it had lots of bottles hanging down from it. Gloria Dump said ''This tree represents all of the things I have done wrong. '' She also said those bottles keep ghosts away. Gloria Dump told Opal that you can only judge a person by what there doing now.

Winn Dixie is scared of thunder storms. When it was thundering outside Opal heard Winn Dixie barking and whimpering, so she let him in the house. He ran back and fourth several times and woke the preacher up. The next day, Opal went to Getuude's Pet's to start her job. When she walked in she saw all the animals out of their cages. They were just sitting there like a stone. Otis was playing his guitar and was singing to them.

Opal went to visit Gloria Dump . Opal told Gloria Dump the ten things about her mom. Gloria Dump gave her a tree to plant. Opal asked if she could come back to check on the tree, and to visit Gloria Dump everyday.

Opal met the librarian and they became friends. Miss Franny, the librarian, told her a story about a bear coming into the library.

Opal's dad told her 10 things about her mother. She drank beer and whiskey, hated being a preacher's wife, couldn't cook, packed bags and left, knew on consellations, didn't like being judged, loved stories, run fast, fought a bit, and her mama loved her.

Flowers For Algernon

"The Flowers For Algernon" tells a story about Charlie who is a mentally retarded adult. He has a brain operation that fails. Algernon is a rat that has the same brain operation as Charlie. Before the operation Charlie worked at a bakery and was a very happy man. After awhile Algernon became weaker and eventually died. After Charlie had the brain surgery he knew he was going to die, because the mouse had died. Also, Charlie got fired and wasn't happy. He was happier before the operation and was not afraid to die.

White Fang

My pet dog is named White Fang. He has beautiful blue eyes and he is very nice. He likes to dig and is very smart. He has lots of hair and always smells good. He lets me know when he has to use the bathroom by howling. He is a full blooded Siberian Husky. I got him at a dog sale in Topeka. I like to play Frisbee with him and I also like to take him for walks. He's five years old.
